Skip the store-bought carton and make your own flavored lemonade at home for a party-ready drink that can’t be beat. Sweet, tart and everything a summer sipper should be!
Ingredients
- 5 cups cold water, divided
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 (6 - oz.) pkg. blueberries
- 1 ¼ cups fresh lemon juice (from 7-8 lemons)
- Ice, for serving
Steps
- In a medium pot, combine 1 cup water, sugar and blueberries. Cook over medium-high until blueberries burst, stirring occasionally, 6–8 minutes. Remove from heat. With a potato masher, mash berries in the pot. Let mixture cool.
- Strain blueberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard solids. To pitcher, stir in remaining 4 cups water and lemon juice. Refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice.
