Ingredients
- 2 whole wheat or regular hamburger buns
- 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
- ½ tsp garlic powder, divided
- 1 ¼ lbs 93% lean ground beef
- ½ cup Heinz ® Ketchup
- ¼ cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp sweet relish
- 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 head red leaf lettuce
- 1 (7 oz) pkg reduced-fat shredded Cheddar cheese
- 3 Roma tomatoes
- ⅓ cup chopped dill pickles
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment. Using a serrated knife, cut the buns into 1-inch pieces. In a medium bowl, gently toss the bread with 1 tbsp oil and the garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper. Spread bread onto prepared baking sheet. Bake bread 15 min., until lightly browned, tossing halfway through. Let cool.
- In a 12-inch skillet, heat remaining 1 tbsp oil on medium-high. Add the beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook 8–10 min., until browned, stirring and breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon. Spoon off any excess fat.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk the ketchup, mayonnaise, relish, and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Tear the lettuce into bite-size pieces. Divide lettuce among 4 shallow bowls. Spoon beef over lettuce. Top with the cheese, tomatoes, pickles, and croutons. Drizzle sauce over salads.
